Someday when I reflect on this countdown and deliberate which selections I want to kick myself over due to gross misplacement, this could very well lead the pack.  There’s no way “Meet Me Halfway” by Sir Kenny Loggins should only be 67th.  These are the kinds of decisions that get business executives fired.  Sure the movie it’s from (Over The Top) was mostly a pile of shit, but no flick could live up to the awesomeness that is a Sir Kenny signature movie soundtrack classic.

Call me a soft-ass bitch for worshipping this gem as you prance around like a tough guy in your Metallica t-shirt. I ain’t scared of you.  Sir Kenny Loggins is a movie soundtrack God and you sir—you’re just a hater.

If you don’t love this song I don’t know what to tell you.  Seriously, there’s no hope for you and maybe it’s time to part with listening to music altogether.

Chart Success: “Meet Me Halfway” never made it into the Billboard Top 100 (blasphemy), peaking at No. 11 in 1987. It did stay on the charts for 25 straight weeks.

Great Lyrics: I’m not crying—you’re crying.

“In a lifetime
There is only love
Reaching for the lonely one
We are stronger when we are given love
When we put emotions on the line
Know that we are the timeless ones”

Fun Fact: This wasn’t Loggins’ first brush with lending vocals to an awesome movie soundtrack song from a flick that otherwise sucked. Anyone remember “Nobody’s Fool” from Caddyshack II?
