It’s the debut edition of the “Finer Wings Club” on this bonus episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, and Patrick is joined by Matt Parrino, Buffalo Bills beat reporter for NYup.com and Nate Geary, sports talk radio host at WGR 550 for a conversation on several topics, taped at Mulberry Italian Ristorante in Lackawanna.
Each week or at least most weeks Talking Buffalo Podcast will produce a Finer Wings Club episode, where Patrick has wings at different bars with a rotating panel of guests. Mulberry is known as one of the best overall restaurants Western New York and arguably the very best Italian restaurant. That’s common knowledge. What isn’t known is that serve chicken wings, let alone stunningly good chicken wings! The guys try their “Joe’s Medium”, “Honey BBQ” and the special “Tre White Spicy BBQ” and are absolutely blown away that a place best known for Lasagna and killer meatballs produces wings teetering on an elite level.
After filling their bellies with food (also had meatballs) and praise for Mulberry the guys turn their attention to conversation focused on Buffalo, from the community feel of the town to what it’s like leaving for a long period of time, the bonds much of the local sports media has and much more.
Of course, they spend some time talking Bills including addressing a potential few concerns going into camp. Ironically, as Patrick’s asking Matt about tight end being a potential concern (It’s not to Matt—for the record) it’s noted that Bills tight end Dawson Knox is actually at the restaurant enjoying a meal just a few yards away. It’s great stuff and this is must-listen episode for fans of the Bills, wings and the Buffalo community.
