(TBP 923) Bills vs Chiefs Preview & Three Bold Predictions

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has a full preview of the Buffalo Bills vs Kansas City Chiefs clash coming on Sunday that everyone wants to see in addition to three keys to victory for Buffalo, three bold predictions and a final score prediction.
Granted, the Chiefs have sent the Bills packing the past three times they’ve met in the playoffs but it’s not like this rivalry over recent years has been one sided. Buffalo’s actually won the past three regular season meetings, all at Arrowhead Stadium and hope to extend the streak to four with a victory in Orchard Park on Sunday. Kansas City comes into the game undefeated at 9-0 and Buffalo may very well be their biggest obstacle remaining from a perfect regular season. Patrick talks about how the offense hasn’t looked great but is the best in the league at staying on the field by converting third downs. Defensively the Chiefs are a dynamo and seem as good as ever there.
Patrick elaborates on what he thinks the keys to the game are with Buffalo, from being able to play out in front, having offensive success on early downs and (as always) trying to make life hell for Mahomes without blitzing and leaving the back part of the defense vulnerable. Patrick also has three bold predictions, including eight catches minimum out of the backfield for the Bills running backs, a rookie finding his way into the end zone and a Bills captain on the receiving end of a big turnover.
That plus a final score pick and much more. Huge game on Sunday!

(TBP 380) Barry McCockiner on NFL, Buffalo Bills & Tom Brady

On this episode of the future award-winning Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined for a third time by social media personality and content creator, the notorious Barry McCockiner for an explosive conversation focused on his social media exploits, the NFL, Buffalo Bills and of course rants on Tom Brady.
Barry got his Twitter account permanently suspended for the umpteenth time a few months ago after getting his follower count up well over 100,000. He talks about how that happened and why he thinks a NFL quarterback’s agent was behind it. He also elaborates on it being a blessing as its resulted in him spending more time building his YouTube brand and creating videos every week consistently, growing that audience to around 58,000 subscribers in the process.
They then spend a bunch of time talking about the NFL, ranging from examining if the Bengals are for real to what the hell has went wrong with the Dolphins, Chiefs and Sam Darnold in Carolina. Of course, Barry goes on one of his trademark Tom Brady rants when the subject of Tampa Bay comes up.
Barry also has insight on why he thinks the Bills are the team to beat in a tough AFC conference and much more.

(TBP 756) Buffalo Stadium PSL Concerns & Thoughts On New Bills/Sabres COO

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by frenemy and recurring guest Joe From Queens for their weekly conversation, this week heavily focused on some information coming out about PSL’s for the new Buffalo Bills stadium that may concern fans as well as some thoughts on new Bills/Sabres COO Pete Guelli and the long awaited return of the Starting Five draft.
The Bills are in the process of preparing to give current season ticket holders a Stadium Experience tour with the goal of selling them on wanting to obtain a PSL (personal seating license) to be able to continue to being a season ticket holder when the new stadium eventually opens. Unpopular for obvious reasons but quickly becoming commonplace with new stadiums, the guys have thoughts on PSL and how it may effect fans—–from the tough sell the Bills have to straight up pricing some out of continuing to carry season tickets. They explain with at least some details as best they can what a PSL actually means and share some speculation and guesses on what the cost of doing season ticket business with the Bills may ultimately be.
They also spend some time talking about new Bills & Sabres COO Pete Guelli, who’ll be tasked with tough assignments that include having a major part in the overseeing of Bills season tickets with a new stadium and trying to find ways to both improve the Key Bank Center and get fans excited about coming to hockey games again and having a better arena experience—again, easier said than done.
Also, it’s the return of the Starting Five draft, a fun weekly exercise Patrick once did with Joe Yerdon or more than a full year when the guys each make five draft selections on a different topic each time. In honor of it being Easter week, this time the guys are drafting Best Bunnies. That and much more.
That plus some observations from a wild week around the league and much more. Follow Joe on Twitter @BuffaloWins.

EP 204: Greg Tompsett On Bills Monday Blockbuster

On this episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by Greg Tompsett of Cover 1 to go over a wild first day of the NFL tampering period as the league year officially began on Monday, both from a Buffalo Bills and league-wide perspective.
As the taping of this podcast began on late Monday evening, the Bills were very quiet except for a linebacker free agent signing a short time before the taping began. However, things exploded about halfway through the segment when Buffalo traded four picks, including a first-rounder to the Minnesota Vikings for wide receiver Stefon Diggs. This forced the guys to have to react in real time and needless to say, they were both excited and frankly a little shook. (Shortly after taping they added defensive end Mario Addison as well.)
They also saw now former defensive end Shaq Lawson bolt for divisional rival Miami, signing a three-year, $30 million deal. The day also saw linebacker Christian Kirksey, who visited Buffalo last week sign a two-year deal with Green Bay. Cornerback Chris Harris and Jordan Howard were rumored to have interest from the Bills although no deals were reported as of the end of Monday night.
Around the NFL it was a whirlwind day with both trades and free agent agreements. The shocker was a trade between Arizona and Houston that sent running back David Johnson and two picks to Houston in exchange for a pick and DeAndre Hopkins, one of the best receivers in football. The guys chime in on that as well as the deal between San Francisco and Indianapolis that brought the Colts DeForest Buckner and a slew of big money deals, including Amari Cooper, Jack Conklin, Arik Armstead, Ereck Flowers and several more.
