On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective for live postgame reaction in a podcast streamed immediately following the Buffalo Sabres annihilating the Los Angeles Kings at the Key Bank Center Tuesday night, 7-0.
It was the Sabres most convincing win of the season and the guy discuss several aspects of it, most notably UPL getting his fourth shutout of the season (33 saves) as he continues to be far and away the team’s biggest bright spot on an overall disappointing season. Jordan Greenway and Zack Benson were among other Sabres who also did several good things in their shutout over Los Angeles, their largest shutout victory since 2001.
That said, the hater hats quickly go on Patrick and PK as they turn their focus on the totality of the season through 52 games, which has saw Buffalo woefully underachieve if your expectations for this season were the playoffs. Short of a minor miracle the Sabres are poised to miss the playoffs for a NHL record 13th consecutive season. Should Don Granato have been fired or at least be on the hot seat? How much does bad injury luck play a role in where the Sabres are at right now? Why is the power play so dreadful?
The guys also talk a little Super Bowl, cruising and much more.
