On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Anthony Marino from Buffalo Rumblings to discuss some of the biggest things that went wrong for the Buffalo Bills as they were eliminated last week by the Kansas City Chiefs, 27-24 in the AFC divisional round.
After spending some time discussing their feelings before the game and emotions both during and after it, the guys jump into a handful of topics focused on why Buffalo failed to get past what was perceived as a vulnerable Kansas City team and advance to the conference championship. Among them is the disappearing act for a second consecutive season by Bills star defensive tackle Ed Oliver, head coach Sean McDermott sticking with A.J. Klein even though it was glaringly apparent he wasn’t athletically up to the task, other injuries, costly drops from wide receivers including their star, a shaken kicker, persistence on continuing to run the ball even after the Chiefs were selling out defensively and on the other side, McDermott’s ugly defensive history in elimination losses continuing.
The guys also take a quick little sneak peek into what’s sure to be an eventful offseason with changes. tough salary cap decisions and topics that’ll be discussed in future episodes.
