On this episode of the future-award winning Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran talks with Anthony Marino from Buffalo Rumblings to recap the Bills selection of Miami defensive end Gregory Rousseau in round one of the NFL draft as well as a discussion on some of the biggest moments from Thursday night’s first round.
As it turned out just two defensive ends were off the board (Jaelan Phillips and Kwity Paye) when the Bills went on the clock with the 30th pick, leaving them to choose between Rousseau and other prospects like Jayson Oweh, Azeez Ojulari and Joe Tyron. Brandon Beane ultimately went with Rosseau and the guys give their kneejerk reaction to the pick, as this podcast was taped less than a hour after the selection was made.
Both guys conclude the pick was underwhelming but practical and offer a few suggestions on who they wish the Bills would’ve targeted with the selection.
They also take a look at how the AFC East played out in round one Thursday night, including Mac Jones falling to the New England Patriots at pick No. 25 while the Jets and Dolphins each grabbed two first-rounders.
