On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation to go over several of the biggest Buffalo Bills talking points after a pair of Christmas games around the AFC most definitely did not go the way the team hoped.

The presents were great, as was the food and of course spending time with loved ones. But from the perspective of the Bills things did not go well in the Kansas City vs Pittsburgh and Baltimore vs Houston matchups. As a result the Bills are officially out of the running for the one seed despite a 12-3 record and also couldn’t lock up the second seed either. In terms of how those two games effected the Bills path to a Super Bowl, it was a worst case scenario–which of course doesn’t mean Buffalo can’t win the AFC when it’s all said and done, the guys just talk about how that road will likely be significantly tougher.

As a result of Wednesday’s games the Bills will have to knock off the hapless New York Jets at Highmark Stadium on Sunday to officially wrap up the second seed and surely rest their starters in the finale next week at Foxboro. The guys talk a little about the upcoming game and some of the silver linings that come from Buffalo not locking down the two seed before this Jets game, including the chance to get some of the stank from last week’s performance against the Patriots off them as well a little season stat padding for those who care about that kind of thing.

Speaking of for those who care, the MVP battle between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson is definitely on full blast and the guys have plenty of thoughts on that, Kansas City yet again being a thorn to everyone’s side, the Texans being toast, who may be be the seven seed and tons more.
