On this episode of Talking Buffalo Patrick Moran is joined by sports reporter Ajay Cybulski of the Batavia Daily to discuss Buffalo Bills training camp and several storylines developing from it, including highlight plays from rookie Keon Coleman on a regular basis that have him demonstrating the ultra high ceiling he could have in the NFL.
Coleman is having a memorable first training camp, producing a catch or two on a daily basis that many veteran receivers only dream of making. The guys discuss on while it’s obvious Coleman will be a guy capable of making big plays to help the Bills, how great he ultimately becomes will boil down to a level of consistency. They also talk about how in hindsight it seems so wild that few draft pundits and fans gave Coleman much thought with Buffalo before the draft.
Ajay also talks about Kaiir Elam seems to be making the most of his opportunities with a “clean slate” that head coach Sean McDermott is constantly referring to. While there’s not expectation of Elam being a starter there’s still plenty of upside in his game and if he becomes to the team what Dane Jackson was, his presence on the roster can be a positive one. They also talk about Zack Davidson making a push to earn a roster spot and a role that Alec Anderson seems headed for.
Patrick also spends a little time talking with Ajay about the progression in Ajay’s sports media journey, going from intern gigs to a sports reporter position at a community newspaper in addition to starting a “Right Here, Right Now” podcast alongside colleague Alex Brasky. That and plenty more today.
