It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author and Maintenance Day podcaster Joe Yerdon to discuss several topics, including talk about excitement and Von Miller surrounding the start of Buffalo Bills training camp, analyzing Buffalo Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams’ three big trades over the past year and this week’s “Starting Five” draft of best rom-coms.
Bills training camp is about to start and Patrick talks about how expectations haven’t been this high since 1991 when Buffalo was coming off their first of four straight Super Bowl losses. The guys discuss finding a way to be able to enjoy the expectations instead of stressing over it. They also talk about how the arrival of Miller to the roster should be beneficial to the entire defensive line.
Turning to hockey Patrick breaks down the trades that saw Adams ship out Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart and Rasmus Ristolainen over the past year now that most the draft prospects have been selected by Buffalo. Joe talks about why they already appear to be good trades not just for what Adams got in return but also other factors surrounding the departed players.
The guys also spend time talking about how their sports viewing habits have changed as they’ve gotten older and some sports memories that brought tears to their eyes before wrapping up with a draft of the best movie rom-coms.
