It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon to talk about a variety of topics, including an in-depth discussion on the Buffalo Sabres shockingly hot start, not being worried about the Buffalo Bills, Joe’s new venture into sports writing and a “Starting Five” draft consisting of Favorite Tom Hanks movies.
As this podcast episode drops the Sabres have won all three of their games. Joe talks about several of the players that’ve contributed to the Sabres fast start and albeit a small sample size, if he thinks its sustainable. He also talks about how much different the team looks under Don Granato compared to when Ralph Krueger was the captain of the ship and the guys talk about if Jack Eichel actually brought toxicity to the locker room.
On the Bills side, Patrick hits on thinking Buffalo should’ve won in Tennessee on Monday Night but ultimately got the result they deserved. That said, with games upcoming against Miami, Jacksonville, the New York Jets and Indianapolis there’s essentially no reason to worry.
They also talk about Joe’s new writing venture, Noted Hockey (click that link to subscribe for free) including why he started it and what fans can expect.
They wrap up with this week’s “Starting Five’ selections of Tom Hanks movies and here’s a spoiler alert—neither selected The Green Mile. All that and much more.
