On the episode of the future award-winning Moran-Alytics Podcast presented by 26 Shirts, Patrick Moran hooks up with longtime buddy and occasional podcast guest Tone Pucks as the two deep dive into the remarkable job Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane has done transforming his team from perennial loser to legitimate AFC contender.

They start by replaying a take from Tone during a taping just hours after the Bills season opening victory against the New York Jets well over three months ago.  Pucks predicted then that not only would the Bills win 11 games on the season but also lauded the manner which Beane constructed the team last offseason.  Pucks’ take held true and the guys examine the roster to detail exactly why.

From the planned running back switch with Frank Gore we didn’t realize was the plan all along, to not taking John Brown’s snub personally the year before to finding low key gems like Jon Feliciano and Quinton Spain, Beane used free agency and another strong dance to continue his vision of what an emerging contender should look like.

The guys also take a look at what work lies ahead for Beane this coming offseason, with two key defenders set to become free agents and a slew of core players to potentially re-sign over the next 6-12 months. They end by offering insight to what the Bills realistic expectations should be right now and compared to when they take the field next season.

Patrick also spends a few minutes talking with Bills fan Zack Kmitch.  After the Bills defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday night to clinch a playoff berth, several fans ventured to the airport to wait outside in frigid temperatures (by Buffalo standards) to greet the team when their jet touched down.  As players made their way out, Josh Allen walked by a group of fans cheering, grabbed a fan’s phone and took a selfie with them.  The photo not only went viral but ultimately landed on display at the Allbright Knox Art Gallery.   The phone Allen used to snap the selfie was Zack’s, and Patrick talks to him about his entire memorable experience.

Following this, Patrick will be in Buffalo to tape the next four episodes, so be on the lookout for continuation of his “Wings With” series.  Follow him on Twitter @PatMoranTweets for updates.
